How we helped this therapy brand increase their organic search traffic and conversions in 90 days
The Challenge
Deseray, the founder of Anxious Black Girls, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who’s committed to helping Black women learn how to lighten the load. When she created Anxious Black Girls, her mission was to create safe spaces where Black women could break generational patterns that normalize stress, overworking, overthinking, unhealthy relationship patterns and the lack of empathy for self, so they have the capacity to develop healthy habits and relationships, accept help, and feel empowered to live freely in their greatness without the burden of having to figure it out on their own. Deseray want’s her clients to normalize ease and peace in their lives, and teaches them how to reconnect to self, lower stress, and increase high quality experiences as the pathway to healing and a Soft Life™
Deseray reached out to The Marketing Prophet in hopes of increasing her therapy’s brand awareness, organic search traffic, and consultation bookings. Before Deseray came to us, her traffic was only coming from directories (direct/referral traffic) and wanted to explore other options to more of her dream clients finding her brand.
The Solution
Restructuring front end and back end of website
Deseray’s website needed a lot of restructuring on the front and backend of her site. Her main goal was to increase brand awareness, search traffic, and consultation signups to her 3 therapy services.
After conducting a full site audit, we realized that Google wasn’t indexing her services and wasn’t recognizing her brand for a therapy brand helping black girls with anxiety in the state of Florida. We took a deep dive into her competitors in the Florida area as well as found 3 long term keywords to help Google understand her top 3 services plus attract her dream clients.
Updating Home Page Meta Description + Link Structure
We then created a new meta description for her home page so Google understands the purpose of her website (pictured below). Her navigational link structure wasn’t previously being recognized by Google and now, after 90 days, you can see there’s link structures under her meta description.
Creating Separate Services Page
The reason Google couldn’t index her services were because they didn’t exist on separate pages with their separate long phrase keywords. We went ahead and created a section on the home page that listed the 3 therapy type session and then internal linking them to each of it’s corresponding pages.

Deseray did not have a way of capturing potential leads even though one of her goal was to increase consultation signups. We created a quiz to funnel the new visitors who aren’t ready to signup for consultation. We also created a conversion goal within Google to track the amount of consultation signups from google search visitors.
Creating High Quality + Optimized Blog Posts Targeting Dream Clients
After reconstructing Deseray’s site, completing a full audit, adding quiz funnels, and conducting competitor analysis, we created blog posts.
The only content previously on Anxious Black Girls were YouTube embedded videos with no transcriptions. We transcribed each YouTube video and transformed them into blog posts keeping the user and Google in mind. We added call to actions throughout each blog post that led to either relevant services or the quiz funnel.
The Result
Within 3 months working with Anxious Black Girls, they have seen an increase in organic search traffic by 28%, now being the second highest traffic acquisition channel. Their conversion rate from organic search increased from 0% to 12.12% resulting in a goal completion of 188 quiz takers, 32 consultation bookings, and 91 contact form completions. The overall goal conversion rate from search is increased by 27.04%.
Within the first 90 days, we were able to drive 214 website visitors to Anxiousblackgirls.com straight from Google’s search engine result page.
Within the last week, here are the keywords website searchers are typing into Google that Anxious black girls is being found by. Anxious black girls has 4 keywords within the top 3 pages of Google and has 6 website visits from medium search volume keywords “woman support group” and “support groups for women”.
